I'm a bit late wrapping this one up since it was done on June 21, but it's summer so I get to be lazy about various things. Thanks to Carl over at Stainless Steel Droppings for hosting a challenge to remind us all that fairy tales and fantasy are fundamental. I didn't read all the books I planned to read for this, but I did read 15 books that fit into this challenge nicely. They were:
Just about everything on this list was well worth reading, although I will especially call out the Guy Gavriel Kay series - high fantasy that isn't beholden to Tolkien and so wonderfully written. Also, if you haven't read Michelle West's books you are missing out. She just rocks.
I also read Beauty for this challenge. I'll have to try the series by Kay--I've seen it but haven't had a chance to read it.
