Mailbox Monday is sponsored by Marcia over at the
Printed Page. It's the place where we
brag about share the books that arrived in our mailboxes each week. New to me, but similar in intent is In My Mailbox sponsored by
The Story Siren. Since combining the two makes a great name, I figured I'd jump into the second one, too. It turns out that this was a good thing(tm) because Marcia is going to stop Mailbox Monday as of July 26. It looks like different people are signing up to host it for different months after that. As always, I also try to find a mailbox that is somehow associated with what I'm reading right now. I'm reading the
Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society
by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows so I found a Guernsey mailbox!
Here's what came this past week - both are from the
publisher:
One Day
by David Nicholls.
Emma and Dexter meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways. So where will they be on this one...more Emma and Dexter meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways. So where will they be on this one day next year? And the year after that? And every year that follows? Twenty years, two people, ONE DAY.
A Small Death in the Great Glen
by A.D. Scott. A gripping and atmospheric novel of suspense, set in the Scottish Highlands in the 1950s, featuring a small-town newspaper staff.
I love that mailbox. I keep hearing such great things about that book! Did you take that photo yourself or find it on the internet?
ReplyDeleteI like the cover for A Small Death in the Great Glen. I hope you enjoy it!
Here is my In My Mailbox post.
How are you liking Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society? I read and reviewed it recently and adored it. It gave me a similar feeling to 84 Charing Cross Road which I read a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog!
Your mailbox looks similar to mine. I hope you enjoy your new books. Both of these look so good, it's hard to decide which one to go for first.
ReplyDelete@Andi - loved the book - review is forthcoming.
ReplyDelete@Carin - I know, isn't it cool? Sadly I've never been to Guernsey so I found the photo on the 'net. Maybe some day ...
Oh! One Day sounds so good! Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHere is my IMM! I'm also hosing my first giveaway! Hope you can check it out!
Happy Reading!
The Unread Reader
I keep seeing A Small Death around. It looks good.
ReplyDeleteI've added A Small Death in the Great Glen to my wish list. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI received One Day last week...have yet to start it...will look for your review. You have a wonderful blog, by the way...
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat mailbox. I hope you are enjoying The Guernsey book. One Day made it's way here too. I hope it is a good read!
ReplyDeleteWith what looks like two great books in two totally different genres, I'd be tempted to read them both at the same time! I tend to do that anyway, so I mix it up a bit (well, unless one of the books catches me up SO much that I just have to keep on reading it and reading it!) Great mailbox!
ReplyDeleteJulie @ Knitting and Sundries
Enjoy your books.
