Wrap Up - 2010 Chunkster Challenge

I'm amazed to have completed the 2010 Chunkster Challenge - it's been a year so far of big books.  I signed up for the Morbookly Obese level and read 8 books because my first two were read in January and don't count for the challenge.  Here's what I read:

  1. The Children's Book by A.S. Byatt (review)
  2. Dune by Frank Herbert (review)
  3. Slaves in the Family by Edward Ball (review)
  4. Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel (review)
  5. Namaah's Kiss by Jacqueline Carey (review)
  6. The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova (review)
  7. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry (review)
  8. City of Night by Michelle West (review)
This was a great selection of books with the exception of The Swan Thieves, which I hated, and Lonesome Dove, which I didn't hate, but didn't really love, either.  Wolf Hall and The Children's Book are two of the best reads I've had all year.  Highly recommended!

There's a lot to be said for a good long book, although I don't really like the hauling the wrist-breaker around thing - that's the one thing about books that might make me think of an electronic reader ...

  1. They do make your wrists ache, don't they. I have Wolf Hall and The Children's Book waiting to be read and I can't wait to read them. Well done on achieving a huge challenge.
