Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Miz B of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) random teaser sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and the author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!
My Teaser:

"Let me begin by telling you that I was in love.  An ordinary statement, to be sure, but not an ordinary fact, for so few of us learn that love is tenderness, and tenderness is not, as a fair proportion suspect, pity; and still fewer know that happiness in love is not the absolute focusing of all emotion in another:  one has always to love a good many things which the beloved must come only to symbolize; the true beloveds of this world are in their lover's eyes lilac opening, ship lights, school bells, a landscape, remembered conversations, friends, a child's Sunday, lost voices, one's favorite suite, autumn and all seasons, memory, yes, it being the earth and water of existence, memory."

    1. I love the layout of your blog: beautiful header. I had to double check; I can't believe that teaser was really only two sentences.

      Happy reading!
