War Through the Generations Reading Challenge: The Viet Nam War

Oh, look! Another reading challenge for 2010! Just what I need!

Actually this looks like a great one - I'm just sorry I missed the WWII challenge this past year. Ah well.

I am signed up for a Wade- Read 6-10 books in any genre with the Vietnam War as a primary or secondary theme.

Here is the list:

  1. Dispatches by Michael Herr
  2. Bloods: An Oral History of the Vietnam War by Black Veterans by Wallace Terry
  3. The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
  4. If I die in a Combat Zone, Box Me Up and Ship Me Home by Tim O'Brien
  5. Paco's Story by Larry Heinemann
  6. The Best and the Brightest by David Halbertsam
  7. A Bright and Shining Lie by Neal Sheehan
  8. Street Without Joy by Bernard Fall
  9. Vietnam: A History by Stanley Karnow
  10. A Cambodian Odyssey by Haing Ngor
